Heart-Wrenching news from Poonch Terror attacks

On Thursday, a terrorist strike in the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir claimed the lives of five members of the Army. Terrorists opened fire on their car as it travelled between Bhimber Gali and Poonch.

 

Terrorists used to rain and bad visibility to attack an Army vehicle today around 1500 local time as it travelled between Bhimber Gali and Poonch in the Rajauri sector. Terrorists “likely used grenades,” the Army claimed in a statement, explaining why the truck had taken fire.

A backdrop of terror attack

The incident resulted in the deaths of five members of the Rashtriya Rifles Unit who had been stationed in the area as part of anti-terrorist operations. Another soldier with life-threatening wounds has been rushed to the Army Hospital in Rajauri. The statement claimed that operations to identify and apprehend those responsible are underway.

After the tragedy, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his sadness. “Devastated by the news of the deaths of Indian Army service men in a truck fire in Poonch District, Jammu and Kashmir. The victims’ families are in my prayers at this time,” he tweeted.

The truck’s fire was so intense that it could be seen from miles away and ultimately claimed five troops’ lives. Locals who had gathered in the area also assisted the soldiers.
