A six-year-old male cheetah named Uday passed away at Kuno National Park. The cheetah was brought from South Africa. Within one month, two cheetahs lost their lives. Authorities claim that during a routine inspection on Sunday morning, the team in charge of keeping an eye on the cheetahs saw Uday lounging with his head lowered in inclosure number 2.

When they reached close to Uday, he walked with his neck down. The team knew he was sick; they even alerted the wildlife vets who closely watched these cheetahs. The wildlife veterinarian decided to admit Uday to the hospital. The chief forest officer approved tranquillizing him and rushed him to the hospital. Unfortunately, Uday passed away at 4 o’clock after losing consciousness during treatment.

No clue regarding the reason of demise

According to park officials, the team of wildlife doctors’ post-mortem study will help determine the reason for his death. When Uday reached him, he stood up, stumbled, and walked with his neck bowed. When the team discovered he was sick, they alerted the wildlife vets watching the cheetahs in other inclosures.

The wildlife veterinary team decided to admit Uday to the hospital for treatment after evaluating the circumstance. After being told, the chief forest officer approved tranquillizing the cheetah. Uday, unfortunately, passed away at around 4 o’clock after losing consciousness while receiving treatment.

According to park officials, the team of wildlife doctors’ post-mortem study will help determine the reason for the death. In the past 30 days, there have been two cheetah fatalities at Kuno National Park. Shasha, a female cheetah imported from Namibia in September 2022, passed away last month due to a kidney-related illness. Her condition was being monitored by medical professionals at the park, and Bhopal veterinary specialists were called to provide treatment, but sadly, she passed away.
